first post of the new year; 2012
Well, I don't exactly know what all I want this post to say. I guess it'd be what I'm going for this year.
I don't want to call them resolutions...but new ways to think about/approach/live/go through life.
First are the little things: Put my clean clothes awat right away, keeping my room clean, work harder on my sports games (esp. bball) etc.
Second are the little bit bigger things: Listening to more christian music than secular, Diving more into scripture and really understanding it, making sure I have no late assignments (not being lazy), keep strong friendships, etc
Third are the things that might have most impact: Really start to understand my relationship with God and His purpose for my life, Really learning to listen and encourage day to day with ease, be kind and have patience with those who will push my last button, try to understand my brother better and form a better relationship with him, work on my ability to articulate better (my brain thinks a lot faster than my mouth speaks).
I'm sure I can think of more for each category, but that's good for now.
Those are things I'm looking forward to this year.
Something I'm not looking forward to beginning 12-13 is all my junior friends going into their last year. But, I'm not going to think about that because it'd just make me sad and we just started 2012 and have a lot to go and more memories to make!
I'm also looking forward to going to Nicaragua in a week and hopefully going back to Haiti this Summer. I miss my boys and being there and smelling like a Haitian and taking freezing col 3 minute showers and all the moths, and heat and AWESOME thunderstorms at night. And the spirit of God that filled the church as the people worshipped. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. ahem anyway, don't wanna get carried away or anything ;)
Something I'm realizing is that God has big plans for a lot of people and in their lives. And I can see some of it unfold and am even more excited to be apart of it. He has all under control and love us so much. We just have to rely on Him and He'll provide. It may seem easier said than done. And it may sem easy for me to say because things are good in my life right now. But it isn't always like that. But I do believe that though it may storm now, it can't rain forever. I've been through some TOUGH times and right now i'm getting to experience good times, because He's gotten me through the bad. There will be more, but I know that I have a friend who holds me tighter than anyone or anything else. Trust.
I've heard the quote "God gave you the life you have because He knew that you were strong enough to live it..." Sometimes, I wonder why people have such hard lives...or have such hardships. And that doesn't necessarily have to be people from other countries.. But that for me to ask and God to know the answer to.
I'm excited to see what 2012 has in store and I know that my life is in His hands. So, let's see what we're getting ready to go into. :)
Thanks! :)
